    • PURPOSE: Electric vehicle charging apparatus is provided to use a motor inverter inside a vehicle in both directions, thereby lengthening the life of the inverter and to supply an output voltage in a wide range. CONSTITUTION: Electric vehicle charging apparatus charges the battery of an electric vehicle using a three-phase AC power supply and includes a current conversion unit (200) which acts as an inverter for controlling the motor of the electric vehicle according to the flow direction of the current or acts as a converter for converting AC to DC; a reactor (410) which is connected to each phase of the three-phase AC power supply and of which the reactance value is controllable; a single phase changeover switch (420) which, in order to convert the three-phase AC power supplied from the three-phase AC power supply, is positioned among the current conversion unit, the reactor, and the neutral line of the three-phase AC power supply and switches between the reactor and the neutral line of the three-phase AC power supply; and a motor (500) which is connected to the current conversion unit and drives the electric vehicle.
