    • The invention relates to a tool for inserting a coil into an annular cylindrical body (14) which is provided with a series of at least three consecutive axial grooves (E1, E2, E6). According to the invention, each groove (E1, E2, E6) is defined by an upstream axial edge (Bfn) and a downstream axial edge (Bbn) which are arranged on consecutive associated axial teeth (D72, D1, D2, D5, D6) that define the groove. The inventive tool includes at least one axial orientation segment (10) comprising a tangential end axial edge (22f) which is adjacent to an axial edge (Bb1) of a first groove (E1). The invention is characterised in that the segment (10) includes first (36) and second (38) lateral support faces which project out radially towards the exterior and which can rest on a first downstream axial edge (Bb2) and a second upstream axial edge (Bf2) of a second groove (E2) respectively, such as to limit the deformation of the axial tooth (D1) comprising the first downstream axial edge (Bb1).
