    • An over current detection apparatus of a motor for a car is provided to detect a condition of an over current generation accurately while driving the motor by setting a middle value of a right current and a restriction current as an over current detecting reference current. In an over current detection apparatus of a motor(16) for a car, an input unit(11) inputs an external square wave including motor driving information(duty) by transforming the wave into a recognizable electric potential in a micro processor(12). The micro processor(12) outputs a FET(Field Effect Transistor) driving control signal according to the motor driving information of the external square wave, sets a certain range between a regular current of the motor(16) and a restriction current of the motor(16) as an over current detecting reference current, and determines a right state of the motor(16) when a detected current is lower than the reference current by comparing a motor detection current, an output voltage of a smoothing unit(19) of a detecting device, with the reference current and determines an over current state of the motor(16) when the detected current is higher than the reference current so as to stop the motor(16). A FET driving unit(13) amplifies a FET driving signal according to a FET driving control signal of the micro processor(12) and outputs the amplified signal. A FET(14) turns on/off in accordance with the FET driving signal of the FET driving unit(13). A free wheeling diode(15) passes a restoration current for a continual operation of the motor(16) when the FET(14) is off. The motor(16) driven according to an operation of the FET(14) and the free wheeling diode(15) provides a driving power. A shunt resistance(17) connected to one end of the FET(14) detects a current of the motor(16), flowing through the FET(14). An amplifier(18) detects and amplifies a voltage, generated by the current flowing through the shunt resistance(17). The smoothing unit(19) smooths the amplified voltage and outputs the smoothed voltage to the micro processor(12).
