    • PURPOSE: To provide an optical connector in which on optical element is exchanged through simple work with enhanced work efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The optical connector 31 having the optical element 3 incorporated in a housing 33 is provided with holding mechanisms 15, 34 and 43 for preventing coming off of the element 3 from the housing 33. In the case of exchanging the element 3, the element 3 is changed integrally with the housing 33. The mechanisms 15, 34 and 43 are provided with a stopper member 15 provided at the element 3, an abutting part formed at the housing 33 on one side of the member 15 and a coming-off stopping member 34 to be fixed to the housing 33 on the other side of the member 15. By abutting the member 15 onto the abutting part, moving of the element 3 toward one side is regulated and by abutting the member 15 onto the coming-off stopping member, moving of the element 3 toward the other side is regulated, thereby preventing the element 3 from coming off from the housing 33.
