    • PURPOSE: A preparing method of oxygen delignification of lignocellulose material is provided, which has an improved oxygen delignification process that requires reduced amounts of capital equipment. CONSTITUTION: A method for treating lignocellulosic pulp comprises the steps of: (a) mixing, in a pulp soaking stage, the lignocellulosic pulp with an alkali to create a mixture and allowing the mixture to remain in residence therein for a determined period of time to enable an alkali hydrolysis leaching of colored materials from the mixture and a swelling of pulp fibers, the lignocellulosic pulp containing lignin bonded to cellulose fibers; (b) mixing a feed of the mixture from the pulp soaking stage with both oxygen and steam to form a combined stream; and (c) feeding the combined stream to a pressurized oxygen delignification stage to enable a reaction between the oxygen and the lignin of the lignocellulosic pulp, the swelled fibers facilitating the reaction between the oxygen and the lignin of the lignocellulosic pulp and further removal of colored materials from the lignocellulosic pulp.
