    • PURPOSE: Microflora introduced with citrate synthease gene (gItA gene) originated from Coryneform bacteria is provided which produces and accumulates L-glutamic acid more effectively. CONSTITUTION: A Coryneform bacteria are Brevibacterium and lactofermentum which are the micro florae belong to Enterobacter sp. or Klebsiella sp. Enterobacter introduced with gItA gene originated from Brevibacterium lactofermentum which produces and accumulates L-glutamic acid significantly in comparing with the one introduced with gItA gene originated from E.coli. AJ13355/pMWCB has 0.78 g/l of accumulated L-glutamic acids and 28.5 g of residual glucose, if the fermentation is continued until the glucose is consumed completely, the accumulated L-glutamic acid can be about 1.5-2 g/l.
