    • PURPOSE: A process for preparing electrically conductive pigments by coating a tin mixed oxide layer doped with F¬- and/or PO4¬-3 as an electrically conductive layer to a substrate is provided, which produces the electrically conductive pigments having acceptable resistance simply and inexpensively. CONSTITUTION: A hydrolyzable tin compound (IV) is added to an aqueous solution containing a substrate in a shape suspended at a pH and temperature for completing hydrolysis of a tin compound to produce a substrate coated by tin oxide hydrate, the substrate is separated from the suspension, if desired, washed, dried and then calcined at 600 to 1,000deg.C to produce a substrate coated with SnO2. In an additional process, the SnO2 layer is converted into a tin mixed oxide layer doped with F¬- and/or PO4¬-3.

    • The present invention relates to pigments comprising a platelet-shaped substrate, a coating comprising two different metal oxides having a difference in refractive index of at least 0.1, wherein the metal oxide having a higher refractive indexis the metal oxide MOH and the metal oxide having a lower refractive index is the metal oxide MOL, wherein the amount of MOH and the amount of MOL changes (continuously),a coating comprising metal oxides MOH and MOL, wherein the amount of MOH and the amount of MOL changes (continuously), and (D) optionally an outer protecting layer; a process for their production and their use in paints, ink-jet printing, for dyeing textiles, for pigmenting coatings (paints), printing inks, plastics, cosmetics, glazes for ceramics and glass. The pigments can show enhanced colour chroma while maintaining the lightness of coventional interference pigments, or vice versa.
