    • PURPOSE: A preparing method of a ceramic composition having improved compaction, green density, green strength and surface finishing characteristics is provided which can produce a ceramic tile having a fine grain of natural stone such as granite and marble CONSTITUTION: A process is disclosed for making a ceramic composition which comprises:(a)manufacturing a fine particle material mixture comprising 0.1-20 wt.% of polymer additive selected from one or more polymers having a weight mean molecular weight of 30,000-1,000,000 based on the total weight of the mixture, an absorbed moisture of below 6% based on the polymer additive and a glass transition temperature of -50 to 90°C and above 40 wt.% of granule-shaped mineral matrix material having a particle size of 0.5-10 mm; (b)forming a green body by compacting the granules; (c)sintering the green body having a flat-sheet dimension of a minimum width of 10cm, a minimum length of 10cm and a minimum thickness of 0.2cm.
