    • PURPOSE: To make disposal of waste easy by forming a core by winding thick paper into a cylindrical form in a winding machine instead of using an existing hollow and cylindrical core to dispense with complicated disposal of waste of the existing core, and to restore the core in the cylidrical form to be a flat board. CONSTITUTION: In winding a web using a multi-axis turret winder, axial positions of the multi-axis turret winder are set as a core moulding position A, a winding position B, and a winding roll takeout position C. The thick paper P is wound around a core shaft S at the core molding position A, and abutment parts are locked by an adhesive tape t to form the core. By rotation of a turret T, the core is transferred to the winding position B, where winding is conducted. By rotation of the turret T, it is then moved to the winding roll takeout position C, where a completed winding roll R1 is taken out. Processes from formation of the core to takeout of the winding roll can thus be conducted as a series of processes in the winder.
