    • PURPOSE: A damping apparatus for a moon pool is provided to simplify an installation layout by transferring the moving force of a transfer uit to a damping plate through a drive wire. CONSTITUTION: A damping apparatus for a moon pool comprises one or more damping plates(11,12). The damping plates are hinged on the side walls of a moon pool(10) through pivots. One or more transfer units for transferring drilling equipment are arranged on the top of the moon pool. One or more drive wires(13,14) are connected between the damping plates and the transfer units. The damping plates are opened and closed by transferring the moving force from the transfer units to the damping plates through the drive wires.
