摘要： PURPOSE: A protection device for shading the side window of driver for passenger car is provided to allow a hollow portion to be open toward the axial front end surface and a winding spring to axially extend to the outside of a winding shaft and be stationarily gripped in the front end area which is apart from the winding shaft, thereby implementing a spring motor function. CONSTITUTION: A protection device for shading the side window of driver for passenger car comprises a flexible planar formation (5) of a strip type. The flexible planar formation is gripped on a winding shaft (8) with a hollow portion (9) to be wound or unwound thereon. A coil-type winding spring (14) is disposed in the inside of the hollow portion to apply torque to the winding shaft in the winding direction. The hollow portion is open toward the axial front end surface. The winding spring passes through the open front end surface, axially extends to the outside of the winding shaft, and is stationarily gripped in the front end area which is apart from the winding shaft.

A holder has a slot so as to be installed in the vehicle. The pin is rotatably fixed to the slot such that the holder serves as a suspension member for the spring motor.
