    • An ink acceptable layer composition of a recording medium for an image forming apparatus is provided to ensure excellent light resistance and discoloring resistance while retaining good ink fixation performances and gloss. An ink acceptable layer composition includes a fixing agent, an inorganic filler, a binder, and a solvent, wherein the fixing agent is a polymeric material comprising an ultraviolet absorption unit. The fixing agent is represented by the formula (I) of -[A]l-[B]m-[C]n-, wherein A is a radical polymerizable monomer comprising at least one of tertiary amino groups and quaternary ammonium groups in the molecule, B is a radical polymerizable monomer copolymerizable with the A, C is an ultraviolet absorption monomer and is selected from the group consisting of benzophenone-based ultraviolet absorption monomers, benzotriazole-based ultraviolet absorption monomers, and formamidine-based ultraviolet absorption monomers, l is 5-40, m is 40-75, and n is 20-55, and l+m+n=100.

    • PURPOSE: Provided is a recording medium for ink jet printer which comprises a ink receptive layer having excellent moisture resistance, water resistance, ink absorption ability and the like at high temperatures. CONSTITUTION: The recording medium comprises a substrate(2) and a ink receptive layer(4) which is coated onto the substrate and contains inorganic fillers, polyvinylalcohols, cationic latex of core-shell structure and zircornium compounds. The substrate is one selected from the group consisting of one-side or two-side coated paper, one-sided or two-sided art paper, cast coating paper, synthetic paper, printing paper and baryta, or a transparent or translucent film selected from films based on polyester, polycarbonate, cellulose-acetate or polyethylene. The contents of polyvinylalcohols, cationic latex of core-shell structure and zircornium compounds are 5 to 100 parts by weight, 0.5 to 50 parts by weight and 0.05 to 25 parts by weight, respectively.
