    • A sealed battery and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve the welding strength at a portion where a sealed body is inserted into an outer can, thereby realizing improved sealability and toughness. A sealed battery includes a portion wherein a sealed body is inserted into the opening of an outer can, wherein the insertion portion is sealed by high-energy beam welding. In the sealed battery, the bottom point of the top surface of at least one melting trace exists at a lower position than the bottom point of the top surface of the adjacent melting trace, as viewed toward the bottom of the outer can. Additionally, the bottom point of the bottom surface of at least one melting trace of the bottom surface of at least one melting trace exists at a lower position than the bottom point of the bottom surface of the adjacent melting trace as viewed toward the bottom of the outer can.
