    • PURPOSE: Provided are an apparatus for making water sterilized, which can sterilize various microorganisms living upon the living environment, by electrolysis of water, and a process of the sterilization. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for preparing sterilizing water, comprises an electrolyzer wherein an anode chamber(10) and a cathode chamber(20) partitioned by an ion exchange membrane(40) form a unit cell(A), being alternately arranged and successively equipped with close relation; water inlets(61,62) and water outlets(71,72) are provided on the end plate(60,70) at both ends of the electrolyzer; the anode chamber(10) and cathode chamber(20) having circulative openings at the vicinity of each edge at both side centered from anode plate(11) and cathode plate(21), of which two circulative openings of diagonal direction among them have plural passages of fan shape, in order for water introduced through the openings to pass through the passages to rapidly go through each electrode; and a gap-control gasket(30) and a gasket for preventing leakage of electrolyte(31) having plural horizontal members are provided at the center to form an anode reaction chamber and a cathode reaction chamber.

    • PURPOSE: An electrodeionization apparatus is provided to produce a deionized water such that the impurity ions in the water to be treated are concentrated in the concentrate water. CONSTITUTION: Two sub-desalination chambers(d1,d2) are defined by a cation exchange membrane(3) on one side, an anion exchange membrane(4) on the other side, and an intermediate ion exchange membrane(5) in between and are filled with ion exchange materials(8) to construct a desalination chamber(D). Concentrating chambers(1) are provided via the cation exchange membrane(3) and the anion exchange membrane(4) on both sides of the desalination chamber(D). The desalination chambers(D) and the concentrating chambers(1) are provided between an anode(7) and a cathode(6). While a voltage is applied between the anode(7) and the cathode(6), water is supplied to one of the two sub-desalination chambers(d1,d2) and then, water discharged from the first sub-desalination chamber(d2) is supplied to the second sub-desalination chamber(d1). Concentrate water is supplied to the concentrate chambers.
