    • A stent having a double arrangement strut for a blood vessel is provided to be inserted into a narrow blood vessel by making the side diameter of the stent smaller in closing. The stent(10) having a double arrangement strut for a blood vessel is composed of both opened ends(12,14) and a plurality of cylindrical hoops(16a,16b,16c,16d) disposed between the opened ends in the longitudinal direction, arranged in a diagonal line form by aligning a plurality of pillars(18) in a vertical direction, and opened or closed. The lengths of the adjacent pillars in the each hoop are different from each other. The pillars are divided into a first pillar group coming into contact with the outer periphery and a second pillar group coming into contact with the inner periphery in viewing the correspondent hoop from one or the other side while the hoop is closed up.

    • PURPOSE: A locking stent is provided to allow for a wide array of materials, not previously used with prior art stent, to be used with the stent, with the unique design of the stent, i.e. the interlocking of adjacent hoops upon deployment of the stent. CONSTITUTION: The stent(100) comprises: a lattice of interconnecting elements defining a substantially cylindrical configuration having a first open end(102) and a second open end(104), the lattice having a closed configuration and an open configuration; the lattice comprising a plurality of adjacent hoops(106a-106h), each hoop separated from another hoop in the closed configuration and each hoop interlocking with another hoop in the open configuration.
