The support body unit includes plural holes filled with the vegetation base materials for promoting the rooting of the plants.

    • A method of growing new buds from seeds of a gourd, pumpkin, watermelon, sweet pumpkin and white flowered gourd is provided, which enables to harvest new buds from seeds at low costs. Seeds of a gourd, pumpkin, watermelon, sweet pumpkin and white flowered gourd are sown on a seed bed containing 50% by weight of pumice and 50% by weight of field soil in a vinyl house, hilled up to a height of 2 to 3cm, covered with rice straw, fertilized and watered frequently while controlling the temperature at 5 to 25deg.C. Organic fertilizer such as compost and oil cake is sprinkled around buds when new buds begin to emerge 1 week after germination. The new buds are harvested when grown to a length of 6 to 7cm.
