    • This invention provides an electrode member for a cold cathode fluorescent lamp having excellent adhesion between a lead part and glass, and a process for producing the electrode member. An electrode member (10) comprises an electrode part (11), a lead part (12), and a glass part (13). The lead part (12) at least on its surface side is formed of an iron-containing metal, and the surface of the lead part (12) in its part covered with the glass part (13) is provided with an oxide film (12s). The oxide film (12s) contains FeO. The FeO-containing oxide film (12s) can easily realize a higher level of adhesion to the glass than the oxide film formed of Fe2O3 and Fe3O4. By virtue of this, in the electrode member (10), the lead part (12) and the glass part (13) can be adhered tightly to each other for satisfactory adhesion between constituent members present between the lead part (12) and the glass tube in the cold cathode fluorescent lamp.
