摘要： A processing system for coping with message loss in a mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to process the authentication of a mobile station rapidly by setting a timer in order to cope with the loss of an authentication message. A mobile terminal transmits a PKMv2(Privacy Key Management version 2) RSA(Rivest Shamir Adleman) request message to a base station(201). The base station transmits a PKMv2 RSA reply message to the mobile station in response to the PKMv2 RSA request message(203). The mobile station, receiving the PKMv2 RSA reply message, transmits a PKMv2 RSA acknowledgement message to the base station(250). At this moment, the mobile station activates a timer(207). In case a PKMv2 SA(Security Association)-TEK(Traffic Encryption Key)-Challenge message is not received until the timer expires, the mobile station retransmits the PKMv2 RSA acknowledgement message to the base station and drives the timer again(209,211). Receiving the PKMv2 RSA acknowledgement message, the base station transmits the PKMv2 SA-TEK-Challenge message to the mobile station(213).
