摘要： An optical film is provided to realize low optical anisotropy and excellent handling property, and to improve display quality of a liquid crystal display device, including a change in color tones and view angles, compatibility and transparency. An optical film comprises: cellulose acylate; a polymeric additive for reducing optical anisotropy of the cellulose acylate; a compound having a plasticizing effect; and a compound for changing the wavelength distribution in optical properties of the cellulose acylate. The polymeric additive has an average molecular weight of 3,000 or more, and the compound having a plasticizing effect has a molecular weight of 3,000 or less.

An optical film comprises cellulose acylate having the average molecular weight more than 300,000; and a compound reducing the thickness direction retardation having the average molecular weight more than 1,000. The average molecular weight of the cellulose acylate is 300,000 - 500,000 and the average molecular weight of the compound reducing the thickness direction retardation is 3,000 - 10,000. The compound reducing the thickness direction retardation is a polymethyl metacrylate.
