摘要： A method for manufacturing a magnetic head is provided to control a lead core and a lead gap finely and accurately and to obtain an element shape stably. A method for manufacturing a magnetic head includes a step of forming a magnetic resistance effect film(16) whose upper surface is formed with a first grinding-durable film having grinding selection capability for a magnetic material, on a first region of a lower electrode(12), a step of forming a magnetic domain control film(24) at a whole surface on the lower electrode with the first region, a step of removing the magnetic domain control film on the magnetic resistance effect film by the first grinding-durable film as a stopper and remaining the magnetic domain control film selectively on a second region closed to the first region, a step of removing the first grinding-durable film, and a step of forming an upper electrode(34) on the magnetic resistance effect film without the first grinding-durable film.
