    • An image forming apparatus, an image processing apparatus and a computer-readable recording medium having a program recorded thereon are provided to correct a misalignment of an image formation position with respect to a recording material. An image data input unit(101) receives image data transmitted from a personal computer or a host device(200). A gray scale correction unit(102) performs gray scale correction on bit map data. A screen processing unit(103) performs screen processing on the bit map data which has been corrected for gray scale. A correcting unit(104) corrects an image formation position on the bit map data and provides the same to an image forming unit(109). The image forming unit forms an image on a recording sheet according to the bit map data. A display unit(110) displays various information or a manipulated image. A manipulating unit(111) receives various manipulations by a user and provides signals according to the manipulations to a system controller(108). The system controller controls an overall operation of an image forming apparatus.

A pixel substitution unit configures a corresponding column when a column interval in a boundary(I) between the predetermined region and the adjacent region in an image(1u), of which the predetermined region has moved by the region movement unit, is narrower than the column interval in the boundary between the predetermined region and the adjacent region in an image(1), of which the predetermined region has not moved by the region movement unit, and replaces at least one of pixels included in a predetermined range of a distance from the boundary with pixels between the columns.

An image dividing unit divides image information in the first direction. A random number memory unit generates random numbers and stores them, or stores previously generated random numbers. An image width changing unit performs correction on the pixels determined by the pixel determining unit to change an image width in the first direction of the image information.
