    • PURPOSE: A communication test device and a method thereof are provided to test the communication of a system during the operation of the system by testing an actually managed code. CONSTITUTION: An insertion module(101) inserts a test agent into process control block. When a communication event is generated between processes, a hooking module(103) hooks a test target with a test code by using the test agent. When the test code is hooked, a scanning module(105) collects test information about communication between the processes. A logging module(107) stores the test information collected by the scanning module. A process control block(201) includes a present resource use state about the processes, a process state, priority, and a function table. The communication event includes message transmission between the processes, sharing data transmission, the use of a message queue, and the use of a synchronization object.     • PURPOSE: A method for testing an online system is provided to maximally ensure a real-time operation of a system and test the dynamic situations of all programs by respectively applying a hooking and profiling techniques to the process management scheme of an OS(Operating System) and the collection of system state information. CONSTITUTION: An error model is defined in a first step(S101), and a test agent is inserted in a second step(S102). A test position is hooked is a third step(S103), and test information is collected in a fourth step(S104). The test agent is removed in a fifth step(S105). Program execution information, process context information and system state information are collected in the step for collecting test information.

    • PURPOSE: An exception handling test device and a method thereof are provided to perform an exception handling test by using actual operating code, not a source code, while a system operates actually. CONSTITUTION: An exception handling test apparatus for a system including a device driver, a device manager, and an application, comprises a generation module (101), a hooking module (103), a scanning module (105), and an analysis module (107). The generation module generates a modified device driver based on a defect model and information obtained from the device manager. The hooking module hooks the device driver using the modified device driver. The scanning module collects test information returned from the hooked modified device driver to the application while the application operates. The analysis module analyzes the test information collected by the scanning module.
