A n:1 bit multiplexer performs bit multiplex of an optical transmission tributary signal having virtual lane signals outputted from the byte distributor.

    • A protecting apparatus of a multimedia service system of an ATCA platform based on OTH and a method thereof through a base interface are provided to implement the protection function of a switch by detecting a working/protection state of the base interface. A protection apparatus of a multimedia service system of an ATCA(Advanced Telecomm Computing Architecture) platform based on an OTH(Optical Transport Hierarchy) comprises a device controller(310), a protection switching controller(320) and an ethernet switch(330). The protection switching controller performs switching operation to the protection OTH switch. The Ethernet switch performs the apparatus for input/output device and receives the OTH data frame connected to the base interface. The Ethernet switch switches the OTH data frame inputted through the base interface with the port corresponding to the destination medium access control URL.
