    • PURPOSE: A signal estimation apparatus in a communication system and a method thereof are provided to automatically estimate a signal arrival direction of a received signal in a rapid and accurate way, thereby improving data reception performance of a receiver. CONSTITUTION: A receiving part(110) estimates a signal arrival direction(104) of a received signal(102). The receiving part includes an electronic compass and a directional antenna(112) receiving the received signal in a spatial region. The electronic compass measures an azimuthal angle while being integrated with the directional antenna. A processing part(120) acquires received pattern information of the received signal. A storage part stores directional pattern information for each frequency range of the directional antenna.

    • PURPOSE: A log periodic antenna is provided to have the directivity of a high gain by reducing the beam width of an H-plane radiation pattern. CONSTITUTION: First and second transmission lines(204,205) are parallel with each other. A plurality of broadband radiate devices(241,251) are connected to the first and second transmission lines. Broadband radiating devices forms a predetermined angle from the first and second transmission lines. The predetermined angle is an acute angle. A first broadband antenna part includes first and second transmission lines and a plurality of broadband radiating devices. The second broadband antenna part comprises the first and second transmission lines and the broadband radiating devices. A feeding part supplies a feed signal to the first and the second broadband antenna part.
