    • PURPOSE: The path calculating apparatus of a packet-optical multi-layer based on fuzzy controlling and a path calculating method using the same are provided to improve the efficiency of resources and to improve the quality of transmission. CONSTITUTION: A path calculating engine(130) calculates paths between communication units based on the information of the communication units in a network. A fuzzy controlling part(120) provides fuzzy information to be reflected to the paths between the communication units. The fuzzy controlling part includes a fuzzification part(121), a fuzzy rule inferring part(122), and a defuzzification part(123). The fuzzification part sets a fuzzy set based on the network resource information. The fuzzy rule inferring part infers a fuzzy rule based on the fuzzy set. The defuzzification part digitalizes the fuzzy rule to be transmitted to the path calculating engine.

CONSTITUTION: A system for managing the restoration of an optical transfer network using a CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) has an object structure using middleware. Also the system has a function to process fault information and performance information using a CORBA event service for network restoration. An ONE(Optical Network Element)(120) comprises a plurality of ONE units(330-1-330-n). The ONE(120) also comprises a CMFU(Central Management Function Unit)(320) that manages the system. A PPRM(Provisioning, Protection, and Restoration Manager), if an alarm report is received from a fault event supplier(332), searches network connection data and extracts a fault connection. Based on the extracted data, an RWAM(Route and Wavelength Assign Manager) re-provisions a restoration route through a CORBA client/server(302).
