    • An apparatus and a method for transmitting and receiving image data are provided to perform error correction by extracting the important bits of each pixel comprising the image signal and inserting an error correction code into an important bit. An image signal transmitter receives an image signal to be transmitted from an upper layer(602). Respective pixels of the image signals are divided into the upper bit and the lower bit(604). The image signal transmitter confirms the setting state of the insertion of an error correction code(606). If the insertion of the error-correction code is set according to the confirmation result, the image signal transmitter applies the error correction code according to the classified upper bit(608). The image signal transmitter forms a payload of an MSB packet by collecting the upper bits applying the error correction code and forms the payload of the LSB packet by collecting the lower bits(610). If the error correction code is not applied according to the confirmation result, the image signal transmitter forms the payload of the header of the MSB packet by collecting the upper bits and forms the payload of the LSB packet by collecting the lower bits(612). The image signal transmitter generates the headers of the MSB packet and the LSB packet and generates the MSB packet and the LSB packet by coupling with the respective payloads(614). The generated MSB packet and the LSB packet are transmitted to an image signal receiver(616).

    • A tag generation/processing method reduces a load of a microprocessor in a communication system performing a packet data exchange, increases a processing speed of a packet bus connection apparatus, and assures a reliability of a transmitting/receiving data. A tag generation/processing method includes the steps of: checking whether a microprocessor block(1) starts a packet data transmission; generating address tag, start tag, effective tag, and end tag according to a packet characteristic, storing them into a tag storage block(3), and transmitting an end tag generation signal if the end tag occurs; displaying whether there is a packet data to be exchanged in the tag storage block(3), if the end tag generation signal and tag data external transmission signal are received; and checking a received tag data, and informing the microprocessor block(1) of an abnormal state.
