    • The present invention relates to an operating method of a mobile communications system operating multiple beams. A base station operating method includes: allocating a beam identifier for each of the multiple beams; transmitting the beam identifier corresponding to each of the multiple beams using each of the multiple beams; and notifying, by the terminal, the base station of the beam identifier of the selected beam. According to the operating method of the mobile communications system, a base station can rapidly detect which a terminal enters a specific beam area and rapidly process the movement of the terminal between beam areas with a minimum overhead without performing a complex procedure such as re-conducting a random access or a handover process even when the terminal moves between the beam areas.
