    • PURPOSE: A distribution automation system and a security algorithm application method thereof are provided to safely protect a distribution system from a cyber attack by executing an authentication operation before decoding data packet. CONSTITUTION: A distribution automation system comprises a distribution automation server(10) and a terminal(20). A distribution automation server is connected to a power distribution communications network(N1,N2) through a communications modem. A receiving node transmits a control message to a receiving node after appending authentication data to a control message. The receiving node decides whether data packet received from the transmission node is valid. The receiving node deciphers the control message included in the data packet when the data packet received from the transmission node is valid.

    • PURPOSE: An automatic distribution system and an operating method thereof are provided to minimize a power loss and improve a load factor by leveling an amount of supplied power. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of distribution lines(101,102) comprise a distribution network. A plurality of switching units(120) are installed on the distribution lines with an opening or closing state. A server(140) receives measurement data by commanding the switching unit to measure a load current and stores the measurement data and the list of the switching unit with the open state. The server calculates the power loss and power supply amount at each distribution section according to the movement of an open switch unit(133) by using the list and measurement data and confirms the location of the open switch unit by using the calculated result.
