    • Disclosed is a method for preparing a novel isosorbide derivate. The present invention provides a method for preparing isosorbide by making isosorbide react with a hydroxybenzoic acid derivative under the presence of an aprotic polar solvent and a sulfonic acid catalyst. The method can minimize the generation of byproducts to improve purity, and significantly increase the yield of the isosorbide derivate even when a simple process by precipitation without separation through chromatography.
