    • PURPOSE: A xylanase having homology with glycoside hydrolase family 6 (GH6) enzyme isolated from Cellulosimicrobium sp. strain HY-13 is provided to decompose a sugar substrate including xylan, and to significantly increase enzyme activity by xylobiose. CONSTITUTION: A xylanase with enhanced enzyme activity by xylobiose has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 5 and is active at pH 5-6.5 and 35-50 deg. C. The molecular weight of the xylanase is 76 kDa. A method for producing xylanase comprises the steps of: transducing a recombinant expression vector containing a polynucleotide which encodes the xylanase and has a base sequence of sequence number 6 to obtain a transformant; culturing the transformant and centrifuging to obtain a coenzyme liquid; and purifying the xylanase from the coenzyme liquid. A composition for paper making contains the xylanase.
