    • PURPOSE: A soil density measuring apparatus using radioactive materials and a method for continuously measuring soil density using the same are provided to accurately measure soil density of the ground by using radioactivity penetration into the ground without needing to disturb the ground or to penetrate a member to the ground. CONSTITUTION: A soil density measuring apparatus comprises a radioactivity generating unit(10), a gamma ray measuring unit(20), a transport device(30), and a control device(40). The radioactivity generating unit is installed on a ground surface contacting plate(13) and emits gamma rays to the ground. The gamma ray measuring unit is spaced apart from the radioactivity generating unit on the ground surface contacting plate and measures the amount of the emitted gamma rays. The transport device(30) moves the ground surface contacting plate. The control unit calculates soil density based on the amount of gamma rays which is measured by the gamma ray measuring unit.
