    • PURPOSE: Electrostatic discharge protection for high impedance microphone input is provided to reduce the size of a system by eliminating special packaging. CONSTITUTION: A biasing circuit(120) passes through a high impedance circuit(115). The biasing circuit is connected to an integrated circuit external connection part which can be communicated. The integrated circuit external connection part is an input connection part which receives an electric input signal. The biasing circuit comprises a common mode biasing circuit and an output terminal which is connected to the integrated circuit external connection part through the high impedance circuit. An electrostatic discharge protection circuit(125) forms a circuit shunt path. The circuit shunt path passes through the high impedance circuit.     • PURPOSE: An ESD protection against charge coupling is provided to prevent a damage of a pre-driver circuit without functional loss of an input/output buffer. CONSTITUTION: A first transistor(102) is composed to connect an output unit to a high logic supply rail. A second transistor(104) is composed to connect the output unit to a low logic supply rail. A pre-driver circuit operates a gate of the first and second transistors. A first resistance(106) reduces a first current induced by ESD between the pre-driver circuit and first transistor. A second resistance(107) reduces a second current induced by ESD between the pre-driver circuit and second transistor.
