    • A plasma display panel is provided with a front board (2) wherein a dielectric layer is formed to cover a display electrode formed on a front glass substrate and a protection layer is formed on the dielectric layer; a back board (10), which faces the front board (2) so as to form a discharge space, forms an address electrode in a direction intersecting with the display electrode and has a partitioning wall for partitioning the discharge space; and a sealing material (17) for sealing the outer circumferential portion between the front board (2) and the back board (10). The protection layer prevents a discharge gas from leaking, by forming a base film on the dielectric layer and adhering agglomerated particles wherein a plurality of crystal grains composed of a metal oxide are agglomerated, on the inner region of the sealing material (17) so that the agglomerated particles are distributed over the entire region.

    • Disclosed is a plasma display panel characterized by comprising a front plate wherein a dielectric layer (8) is so formed as to cover a display electrode formed on a front glass substrate and a protective layer (9) is formed on the dielectric layer (8), and a back plate so arranged as to face the front plate for forming a discharge space, on which back plate an address electrode is formed in the direction intersecting the display electrode and a partition wall is provided for dividing the discharge space. This plasma display panel is also characterized in that the protective layer (9) is obtained by forming a base film (91) on the dielectric layer (8), and having agglomerated particles (92), wherein a plurality of crystal particles composed of a metal oxide are agglomerated, adhere to the base film (91) in such a manner that the agglomerated particles (92) are distributed all over the base film (91), and the crystal particles are polyhedrons having 7 or more crystal faces.
