    • PURPOSE: A method and a system and for pointing a radio frequency beam are provided to compensate a statically determinate error in the case of pointing an antenna. CONSTITUTION: Attitude reference systems (502, 528, 530, 534) in an electronic beam pointing system(500) generate an antenna attitude output from an attitude of a satellite and attitude comparison circuits (528, 530) generate an antenna pointing error output. Control circuit (528, 530) are connected to the attitude reference systems and the attitude comparison circuits(528, 530) to give a command to the attitude comparison circuits (528, 530) to generate a control error output signal in response to a dynamic static antenna pointing error induced by a mechanical swing on a satellite. A payload antenna(544) is maneuvered based on the control error output signal to reduce the dynamic static antenna pointing error within a prescribed pointing accuracy with respect to the referencing operation.
