    • PURPOSE: A constant current/constant voltage charging method and a voltage drop compensation method are provided to allow the lithium-ion battery to be charged in a stable manner without being damaged by the over current. CONSTITUTION: A constant current selection switch(17) selects voltages distributed by a voltage distribution voltage(22) and a constant current generating resistor(18). A voltage level-up resistor(20) raises an input voltage. An on-resistance compensation switch(19) uses MOS having the size same as the constant current selection switch so as to compensate for the on-resistance generated by the constant current selection switch. The on-resistance compensation switch is connected to a battery ground(9) through the voltage level-up resistor. A constant current/constant voltage conversion control unit(3) receives outputs from a constant current control unit and a constant voltage control unit, and controls a pass transistor(5) by selecting one of the outputs in accordance with the voltage of a lithium-ion battery(8), to thereby perform a charging operation in a constant voltage/constant current system.
