CONSTITUTION: A method for designing the flying performance of a head slider includes a static analysis module for calculating a flying state value for k disc radiuses, a flying state value in case of track searches to an ID(Inner Diameter) and OD(outer diameter), and a strength coefficient of an air bearing, a cost/constraints evaluation module for calculating objective function values F and constraint function values g corresponding to the calculated flying state values, and an optimization module for repeatedly calculating designing variables until convergence conditions are satisfied by a predetermined optimization technology by inputting the objective functions and constraint functions as an initial value X° of the designing variables for the shape-optimization designing.

    • PURPOSE: An air bearing structure of a head slider with stable lift is provided to minimize the abrasion of a head slider and a disc while preventing the vibration of the head slider and the damage on a head. CONSTITUTION: A head slider(20) lifts a head to a predetermined height to read out information in a state of having non-contact with a disc. An inlet is formed in a layer-structure to block impurities in an air introducing direction and produce pressure. A main rail(22) is extended in a symmetrical structure from the inlet(21) to a rear direction, and includes the first groove(22a), the second grooves(22b) and an edge(22c). An auxiliary rail(23) is extended from a center of the main rail(22) toward a rear direction to divide the first groove(22a) into two parts, and maintains a predetermined void(23a) form the main rail(22) on both sides of a rear end. The main rail(22) has a difference on a rear end part to end up on a point which is approximately 11/12 of an overall length of the head slider(20).
