    • Disclosed are a method and a magnetic resonance system for determining a resonance frequency deviation. The present invention relates to a first method of determining the resonance frequency deviation when a slice of a volume segment of a subject (0) is excited by a magnetic resonance system (5). The first method is as follows: a slice selection slope (44) is switched along one direction (R_1); a slice is irradiated by a radio frequency (RF) excitation pulse (41) to be excited; a reading slope (46) is switched along the direction (R_1); magnetic resonance (MR) data is read while the reading slope (46) is switched; positions of image points in an MR image, which is reconstructed by using the MR data, are obtained, wherein the image points bear signal strengths greater than a predetermined threshold value, and this step is performed to determine one image point having a maximum separation (52; 53) corresponding to the direction (R_1) between the slices, among the image points; and, the resonance frequency deviation is determined according to an amplitude of the slice selection slope (44), an amplitude of the reading slope (46), and the maximum separation (52; 53). The slice selection slope (44) and the reading slope (46) have opposite polarities.
