    • PURPOSE: Antimicrobial peptides isolated from the skin of Hagfish, Eptatretus burgeri, and their analogs are provided, therefore the antimicrobial peptides have high antimicrobial activity on various bacteria and do not cause hemolysis of a red cell. CONSTITUTION: The antimicrobial peptides isolated from the skin of Hagfish, Eptatretus burgeri contain at least 8 amino acid sequence represented by P- W- X1- X2- Y- X3- K- Y, P- W- X1- X2- S- X3- K- Y, or W- X1- X2- Y- X3- K- Y- R, wherein X1, X2 and X3 are any amino acids; the antimicrobial peptide is selected from the group consisting of the nucleotide sequences represented by SEQ ID NOs: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, respectively; the C-terminal of the amino acid sequence is amidated; an amine group in the N-terminal of the amino acid sequence is substituted by alkyl or acetyl; the amino acid residues of the amino acid sequence is L-type or D-type; and the hydrophobic moment of the antimicrobial peptide is 0.15 to 0.8.
