    • PURPOSE: A method of preparing a complex of Ginseng Radix rubra, Lycii Fructus, Rubi Fructus, Schizandrae Fructus, Cuscutae Semen and Torilidis Fructus is provided. The complex exhibits excellent penile erection enhancing and sustaining effects when orally administered to a rabbit and a mouse and a patient having erectile dysfunction without causing any adverse effects. CONSTITUTION: A complex contains a Ginseng Radix rubra extract and a herbal extract in a ratio of 10 to 20:90 to 80. The herbal extract contains 0.5% by weight of Lycii Fructus extract, 0.3 to 6.0% by weight of Rubi Fructus, 0.1 to 3.0% by weight of Schizandrae Fructus, 0.5 to 8.0% by weight of Cuscutae Semen and 0.3 to 6.0% by weight of Torilidis Fructus. The Ginseng Radix rubra extract and herbal extract are obtained by: adding 5 to 40 times with purified water to the Ginseng Radix rubra; extracting it at 70 to 100deg.C for 6 to 10hr 2 to 5 times; centrifuging an extract; and then concentrating it under reduced pressure at 40 to 70cmHg.

    • A health functional food composition containing red ginseng acid polysaccharide(RGAP) and Lycium fruit extract as an active ingredient is provided, which exhibits a hypercholesterolemia improving function on all of cholesterol and neutral fat and has synergistic effect on hypercholesterolemia improvement. The health functional food composition contains: red ginseng acid polysaccharide containing 41.6 to 60.0% by mole of glucuronic acid, 2.5 to 7.5% by mole of galacturonic acid, 18.8 to 33.4% by mole of glucose and 1.1 to 2.1% by mole of arabinose and having a molecular weight of 12,000 to 450,000 and Lycium fruit extract. For an example, 1kg red ginseng is extracted with 10L ethanol several times to produce RGAP; 1kg Lycium fruit is extracted with 8L water 3 times to produce Lycium fruit extract. Then, 5.0% by weight of the herbal composition containing 100mg RGAP and 100mg Lycium fruit extract is mixed with 65.0% by weight of starch, 17.5% by weight of lactose, 5.0% by weight of magnesium stearate, 2.5% by weight of vitamin C and 5.0% by weight of mannitol and tableted.
