摘要： PURPOSE: An upward flow type biological filtering apparatus using expanded polyethylene(EPE) filtering media and a biological filtering method using the same are provided to improve the filtering capability of the apparatus by installing washing units on upper and lower sides of a bio reactor and easily eliminating sludge in the bio-reactor. CONSTITUTION: An upward flow type biological filtering apparatus includes a bio reactor, a plurality of filtering blocks(200), female strainers, male strainers, a bio-filtering layer, washing units, and monitoring manhole. The filtering blocks are loaded on the upper side of the bio-reactor. The female strainers are vertically embedded in the filtering blocks. The male strainers are combined with the female strainers. A plurality of EPE filtering media is filled in the bio-filtering layer. The bio-filtering layer is arranged at the lower side of the filtering blocks. Sludge trapped by the bio-filtering layer is eliminated by the washing units. The monitoring manhole is installed between the filtering blocks to monitor the inside of the bio-reactor.
