A thixotropic gel type cosmetic composition comprises a cellulose mixture consisting of microcrystalline cellulose and cellulose gum, wherein the content of the cellulose mixture regarding the total weight of the cosmetic composition is 0.05-10 wt.% and the remaining consists of purified water. The composition further comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of moisturizer, discoloration preventive agent, oil, surfactant, wax, water-soluble polymer, ethanol, preservative, perfume and neutralizer.
