    • PURPOSE: Provided are a control system and a control method for operating a sequencing batch reactor to stably remove organic material and NOx even though quality of raw water is fluctuated. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises (a) a measuring unit including a timer and a DO detection sensor, (b) a reaction time operation module for computing a reaction time from raw wastewater water inflow time or aeration starting time to aeration stop time, and determining aeration stop time by computing DO variation (d(DO)/dt), (c) an operation unit including a nonaeration-mixing time operation module for computing nonaeration-mixing time using the reaction time, equation 2 and equation 3 below, Equation 2: Y=aX+b, where Y is ammonia concentration in raw wastewater, X is reaction time between raw wastewater inflow time to aeration stop time, and "a" and "b" are constant, Equation 3: Z=cY=d, where Y is ammonia concentration, Z is concentration of nitrate produced in a reactor, and "c" and "d" are constant, and (d) a control unit including an aerator control module for controlling operation of an aerator using the aeration stop time and a mixer control module for controlling operation of a mixer using the nonaeration-mixing time.
