    • A low dropout circuit enabling controlled start-up and a controlling method thereof are disclosed. When the pass element is an n-type pass element, the start up control unit includes a current source connected to a predetermined third voltage; a selection unit providing any one of the first voltage and the second voltage to the gate of the pass element; and a selection control unit that senses the level of the output voltage, compares the level of the output voltage with a predetermined threshold voltage, and controls the selection unit so that the first voltage is provided to the gate when the level of the output voltage is equal to or higher than the threshold voltage, and the second voltage is provided to the gate when the level of the output voltage is lower than the threshold voltage.
