    • PURPOSE: An overheating preventing apparatus of a gas oven is provided to prevent accidents due to the leakage of gas and due to overheating of an object and to improve reliability of a product. CONSTITUTION: In a general state of which the temperature of heated water does'n't rise over a certain temperature, a PTC(positive temperature coefficient) thermistor(5) has low resistance value. If a flame burner(1) has flames, a thermocouple(2) installed near the flame burner generates scores-hundreds mV of thermal electromotive force supplied to an MPU(MicroProcessor Unit)(4) in a solenoid valve(3) via the PTC thermistor keeping low resistance value. Thus, the MPU is operated, and the gas is supplied to the burner by opening of the solenoid valve installed on a gas pipe. If the supply of gas is cut off or the flame of the flame burner is extinguished due to cross wind, the thermocouple does'n't generate thermal electromotive force without regard to the existence of the PTC thermistor. Thus, the driving of the MPU is stopped, and the solenoid valve is automatically closed. Thereby, the accident due to the leakage of gas is prevented.
