    • PURPOSE: A method for culturing mycoplasma contamination-free cells is provided to stably culture the cells and to obtain normal cells from mycoplasma-contaminated cells. CONSTITUTION: A method for culturing mycoplasma contamination-free cells comprises a step of culturing cells in a medium containing biomass extract obtained by culturing a strain having amphidinol productivity. The strain is Amphidinium klebsii or Amphididinium carterae. The medium additionally contains 1-40 uM of surfactin, 0.1-100 ug/ml of ciprofloxacin, or 0.1-100 ug/ml of rifamficin. A method for removing mycoplasma contamination of cells comprises: a step of culturing mycoplasma-contaminated cell in a medium containing the biomass extract obtained by culturing the strain.
