摘要： PURPOSE: A vehicle article carrier is provided for a user to move a pair of cross bars between a loading position and an operating position without a tool. CONSTITUTION: A pair of first support elements(16,18) is fixed to an external body surface adjacently to the first part of the external body surface. A pair of second support elements(20,22) is fixed to an external body surface adjacently to the second part of the external body surface. In a first end portion, a first cross bar(24) is detachably attached to one of the second support elements. In a second end portion, the first cross bar is pivotally attached to the other one of the second support elements. A second cross bar(26) has a first end portion which is pivotally fixed to one of the second support elements. The second cross bar is detachably attached to the other one of the second support elements in the second end part.
