    • A process for producing a modified polymer which, when used in rubber compositions, is further reduced in heat build-up and shows enhanced reinforcing performance and which is excellent in wearing resistance, mechanical properties, and processability; a modified polymer obtained by the process; and a rubber composition containing the polymer. The process for modified-polymer production comprises: a step in which a conjugated diene polymer having a vinyl content less than 10% and a cis-1,4 bond content of 75% or higher and having an active end is modified by reacting the active end with an alkoxysilane compound; and a step in which a condensation reaction is conducted in the presence of a condensation accelerator comprising a compound of an element belonging to at least one of Groups 4A (excluding titanium), 2B, 3B, and 5B of the Periodic Table.
