    • The present invention relates to a method for operating a thermal power plant (10) comprising a gas turbine (12), a power generator (12) connected to a distribution network (17) including a grid frequency (FG) using an electronic separator (15) directly operated by the gas turbine (12) and a shaft (14), and a step-up transformer (16). Synthesized inertia response is acheived by the method comprising: a step of sensing the grid frequency (FG); a step of detecting the necessity of additional inertia when the grid frequency (FG) is deviated; a step of calculating the size of the additional inertia and continuous time when the inertia is necessary; and a step of releasing the additional inertia to the distribution network (17) according to the calculation using the electronic seperator (15).
