    • PURPOSE: Provided is a dispensing systems for dispensing metered quantities of fluid components. CONSTITUTION: The dispensing system includes a first container(20), a dispensing device(22), and at least one component container for at least one component to be dispensed. The component container is adapted to be placed within the first container. At least one conduit is coupled between the component container and the dispensing device. The component container is a flexible container. The first container is hand-held. The dispensing system further includes a second container(28) for a solvent for the component. The second container is mounted on the dispensing device. The first container includes a closure(34) having a first connector for each of the plural components. Each flexible container includes a complementary second connector for cooperating with a respective first connector to couple the material in a respective flexible container to the dispensing device.

    • PURPOSE: A plural-component metering and dispensing system is provided to distribute fluid components and to control and adjust the component ratio by the stroke of each pump. CONSTITUTION: A plural-component pumping apparatus(24) has pistons(66,68,70) and cylinders(72,74,76) for each component to be pumped. Reciprocation of the piston in the cylinder draws the component into the cylinder during an intake stroke of the pumping apparatus and exhausts the material from the cylinder during an exhaust stroke of the pumping apparatus. Intake valves and exhaust valves(90,92,94) are provided into the cylinder. Each of the intake and exhaust valves has a housing oriented outside the cylinder to facilitate repair or replacement of the valves. A pumping motor(40) on each side of the cylinder is coupled to a support and to the piston to move the support and piston relatively toward each other during the exhaust stroke and relatively away from each other during the intake stroke. A position indicator is combined to the pumping motor. The pumping motor controller detects the position of the position indicator.
