    • PURPOSE: A transformer protecting relay method is provided to shorten the time required for harmonic analysis and achieve improved accuracy of analysis on the internal trouble. CONSTITUTION: A transformer protecting relay method comprises a first step(S10) of setting a trouble sign determination reference value, trouble confirmation reference value and terminal voltage RMS increase range reference value; a second step(S20) of sampling differential current value of each phase of a transformer, and obtaining value of fundamental wave of differential current; a third step(S30) of sampling primary terminal voltage of each phase of the transformer, and obtaining RMS value of the terminal voltage; a fourth step(S40) of comparing value of fundamental wave of differential current of each phase with the trouble signal determination reference value, determining as an internal trouble if value of fundamental wave of one or more phases is larger than the trouble signal determination reference value, and determining as a trouble sign if values of all phases are larger than the trouble signal determination reference value; a fifth step(S60) of comparing value of fundamental wave of differential current of each phase with the trouble confirmation reference value, and determining as an internal trouble if value of fundamental wave of differential current of one or more phases is larger than the trouble confirmation reference value; and a sixth step(S70-1,S70-2) of obtaining increase range of RMS value of the terminal voltage, and determining as an internal trouble when RMS value of the terminal voltage is increased in one or more phases, if it is not determined as an internal trouble in the fifth step.
